Electrical thermal imaging surveys are carried out while plant and equipment is running. There will be no interruption to electrical supplies and your operations will not be affected while a survey is being undertaken. Our surveyors are all certified electrical professionals with extensive experience in thermal scanning of electrical systems.
Thermal scanning of electrical systems by certified and professional thermal imaging surveyors results in major cost savings for our clients by reducing breakdowns and eliminating fire risks.
Thermal scanning of electrical systems can include the following equipment:
- Switchboards & switch panels
- Distribution boards / consumer units / fuse boards
- Contactors, switchgear & control systems
- Terminal connections & junction boxes
- Control panels
- Busbar systems & Tap Off Boxes
- Power factor correction systems & controls
- UPS and battery systems
- Motor control centres
- Electrical & electronic components
- PLC connections
No Interruption to Plant or Electrical Supplies
Surveys are carried out while plant and equipment is running. This means that you will see no interruption to your operations or electrical supplies while a thermal scan is being undertaken.
Our clients include:
- Industrial Plants and facilities.
- Office Blocks
- Shops and stores
- Warehouses & Cold Stores
- Ships & Marine Vessels
- Offshore Platforms and Installations

Safety First!
Thermal scanning of electrical systems must be carried out by suitably qualified personnel using the correct systems and procedures.
Our certified electrical thermal imaging surveyors use only the highest resolution thermal imaging equipment (meaning we keep as far from the danger zone as possible) and have extensive experience in conducting this type of survey.
We issue a risk assessment and method statement for each and every survey we conduct and have an impeccable safety record.
Myths Regarding Thermal Scanning of Electrical Systems
“Surveys can be carried out without removing panel covers”
INCORRECT – Thermal imaging of electrical systems CANNOT be effectively carried out without removing panel covers. Infrared windows can be fitted to switchgear to provide a limited view but invariably panel covers must be removed by suitably qualified personnel to allow an effective survey to be carried out.
If your existing surveyor says otherwise then ask them for their certification and qualifications!
“Surveys can be carried out while power is off”
INCORRECT – Systems MUST be powered up and be under load to allow effective thermal scanning of electrical systems.
Without electrical load (minimum 40%) then an electrical fault is not likely to generate enough heat to allow a reliable assessment to be made of the severity of the fault or indeed the presence of the fault.
